	This is a step-by-step guide for setting up a proper Quark Xpress file from scratch with the correct image specifications.
Step 1. Launch the Quark Xpress application. Step 2. Size Info Verify that all your images are in CMYK mode. also check your resolution is 300 dsi and that your size is correct. There can be a difference in tone if you try to convert from spot or pantone colors to CMYK colors. Document size should generally be set to A4 Letter. (See Figure.1 below). [Figure.1] Step 3. Design Inside the Lines Go ahead and design your card, but remember to leave room to cut. Guides - Its a good idea to make guides for yourself, apprx 1/8th (38px) in inside of the edge for guides. [Figure.2] Step 4. Saving Finished Artwork When you are finished with your design and ready to save, Choose File > Save As and and save it to your computer. Free the output prevention. [Figure.3] Do not use gradation in Quark, instead use a program such as Photoshop for a more precise gradation. Select "collect for output" from file menu when you are finished. If you are unable to find you picture or fonts then save the page as EPS in a specified folder and open it with illustrator. After opening in illustrator you can use the font outline method and then save it. Then just send us the illustrator file.
